Rightmove’s 2016 claim that a staged home will sell for 8% more is ten years old and overstates the UK evidence: in 2019 only 16% of professionals surveyed put the uplift as high as 7-10%, and 38% said 1-3%

Apart from the Rightmove line, these figures come from the Home Staging Association UK & Ireland’s online survey of UK property professionals, run January to April 2019. They record what those professionals said, not audited sale prices or selling times, and they are 2019 figures.
